Cylinder Keys are still very popular despite the new security advances in lock & key design.
Here at The Sherwood Cobbler we try to use original manufacturers blanks wherever possible.
Our machines are calibrated to give the best possible cut, which is why we get very few returns
We also have a massive selection & stock of blanks but we can also source your particular key blank if required. Unless restricted
Mortice Keys
Mortice keys still provide an excellent level of security. Again we try to use manufacturers blanks wherever possible. From manufacturers such as Era, Union, Asec & Yale to name just a few.
In recent years a lot of "BUDGET" locks have appeared on the market, most of which provide very little in the way of security. British Standard 5 Lever Locks are the only ones worth fitting to any door
Security / Dimple Keys
Security Keys are getting ever more popular. Here at The Sherwood Cobbler we can cut a wide range of these "Dimple" keys. From Yale, Iseo, Multi Lock, Cisa & the star of the lock world the Ultion WXM
It has to be said that a lot of the manufacturers are going to great lengths to stop a lot of their keys being cut just by anybody. Avocet ABS & Ultion WXM being just 2 of the popular ones. These require a big investment from the Key Cutter/Locksmith, hence why these keys are quite expensive. Having said that, your home is the biggest investment you are likely too make, so it makes sense to protect it with good quality locks & using the correct blanks that are specifically made for your lock.

Window Keys
There are a lot of Window Keys on the market. This is just a small selection that we have as standard. Some very old ones & quite a few of the new ones. These are ready cut usually by the manufacturer & bought straight off the shelf.
Safe Keys
We also cut a wide range of safe keys. These need to be precision cut & can take a lot of work.
We only carry a limited stock of Safe Keys, because of the cost, but, we can order the majority of Safe Blanks to suit your requirements
